With these new additions, Epson expands its line of printers to address and improve on the standard for LFPs among the retail/service; architectural/interior design, and the education sectors.
Equipped with award-winning technologies, the Epson Stylus Pro® 9700/7700 are poised to surpass current market standards in terms of speed, quality and durability. The series also provide a wide range of professional printing applications that address specific paradigms of specialized industries such as architecture & interior design, retail & service, advertising, and education. “These new large format printers are designed to assist architects, engineers, construction companies, spatial data analysts and retailers to expand their businesses and provide accurate reproduction of architectural drawings and color presentations, engineering plans, spatial data maps, and attention-grabbing point-of-sale displays,” confirmed Epson Philippines Corporation Senior General Manager and Division Head for Sales and Marketing Ed Bonoan.
PRECISION AND SPEED
These advances are made possible by incorporating Epson’s unique core technologies in high-performance ink jet printing with the combination of the extreme precision of the Epson Micro Piezo Thin Film Piezo™ (TFP) print head and the extraordinary performance of Epson UltraChrome® Vivid Magenta Ink.The advanced Epson Micro Piezo Thin Film Piezo™ (TFP) print head is capable of producing extremely precise text and line-art, along with brilliant photographic quality prints, at speeds almost twice as fast as its predecessor. Combined with Epson’s latest ink-repelling coating and auto nozzle verification technologies, clogged nozzles are virtually eliminated. Epson’s most advanced print head, Epson Micro Piezo Thin Film Piezo™ (TFP) print head has 10 channels supporting a new five-ink configuration. This advanced print head has 720 nozzles per color. The efficient printers can deliver an A1-size (23.4 x 33.1 inch/ 594 x841mm) professional print on plain paper in just 42 seconds.
A PROFESSIONAL’S COST-EFFECTIVE CHOICE
Epson UltraChrome® Vivid Magenta represents the latest generation of pigment ink technology. Utilizing four colors, including dual-black ink technology, it is a high density, resin coated pigment ink formulation recognized worldwide by graphic arts professionals for its wide color gamut and excellent water and fade resistance. Configured with Cyan, Vivid Magenta, Yellow and both Photo and Matte Black, the Epson Stylus® Pro 7700 and Epson Stylus® Pro 9700 will impress the most discerning print professional with their color fidelity on a broad range of media up to 1.5mm thick.
The Epson Stylus® Pro 7700 and 9700 have the ability to automatically switch between photo and matte black inks depending on the media selected, improving productivity when a variety of different papers are used.
With five individual high capacity ink cartridges available in 350 or 700 ml capacities and automatic switching between photo and matte black inks, the Epson Stylus® Pro 7700 and Epson Stylus® Pro 9700 offer longer unattended print runs and lower operating costs.
Epson UltraChrome Vivid Magenta Ink produces industry-leading color with true archival capability, thus once again, raising the level of photographic print quality, while setting a new benchmark standard for line-art precision reproduction and color accuracy. Whether producing high-resolution architectural plans, highly-precise engineering drawings, extremely photographic GIS mapping output, or brilliant display signage, never before have Engineering Scientific and Creative Professionals had such powerful tools, allowing them to print their vision without compromise.
Unlike other large format printers using thermal inkjet technology, the Epson Stylus® Pro 7700 and the Epson Stylus® Pro 9700 use Micro Piezo inkjet technology for excellent color consistency over longer print runs. Overall running cost is also effectively reduced with the use of only four inks at any given time, while maintaining excellent quality for professional in-house printing of posters, banners and flyers.
Other features include a color LCD panel for easier selection of commands, more convenient paper handling with no need for spindles to hold rolls, and the ability to quickly and easily switch from normal tension to high tension when using thinner media. New layout manager software assists users in maximizing paper use with nesting capabilities and easy layout tools for a range of large format printing applications.
To ensure easy integration into existing workflows, both printers come standard with USB2.0 and Ethernet connections and are supported with Windows, Macintosh and HDI drivers.
Features of the Epson Stylus® Pro 7700 and Epson Stylus® Pro 9700
Micro Piezo Thin Film Piezo™ (TFP) print head – The proprietary print head technology is re-engineered to perform better by allowing two channel outputs for each color, thereby doubling the nozzle count to 720 nozzles per color. This contributes to the vast improvement in print speed which is up to 50% faster compared to its predecessor model. Fast print speed is paramount in a corporate environment due to large volume printing.
User-friendly Layout Application – The new Layout Manager enables users to edit and layout their artwork in various sizes and positions before printing, thereby reducing paper wastage.
Efficient Media Handling - Paper handling is made easier with the new spindle-less flange which makes media loading a breeze. An intelligent built-in roll paper feeding system automatically aligns and adjusts the paper for optimal tension during loading. Additionally, paper cutting is simplified with the new rotary paper cutter that is faster and more durable – it can cut an entire sheet smoothly and cleanly within seconds and can be used for various media, including cloth, canvas and adhesive paper, eliminating the need for manual cutting.
Epson UltraChrome® Ink with Vivid Magenta - The Epson Stylus® Pro 7700 / 9700 produce professional prints with the Epson UltraChrome® Ink with Vivid Magenta which significantly expands the range of color gamut with vivid magenta. Users can also enjoy the versatility of printing on a variety of inkjet-coated media with the built-in Matte Black and Photo Black inks as the printer automatically selects the optimum black ink for different media. Enhanced Durability - The light-fastness quality of the Epson UltraChrome® Ink with Vivid Magenta enhances the print durability by preventing them from fading and discoloration due to prolonged exposure to light. Furthermore, the resin-encapsulated pigments are water-resistant and have excellent color stability for long-lasting printouts.
