What does the introduction of the Epson ReadyScan LED Technology mean for our customers?
Epson scanners featuring ReadyScan technology feature a light emitting diode (LED) lamp instead of a traditional cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL) light source; resulting in the many customer advantages.
Zero warm up time. There is no waiting time before the scanner starts to scan
As Epson scanners featuring ReadyScan Technology feature LED light sources that are composed of an array of semiconductors, they can light up instantly without a warm up time needed; unlike conventional CCFLs. This means users can start scanning more efficiently. There is also no warm-up time needed when switching from scanning film to scanning reflective images.
With no warm-up and efficient LED white light, you can experience fast, overall scan speeds.
Less impact on the monthly power bill
Compared to conventional scanners. less power is required to run Epson scanners with ReadyScan Technology. Less heat is also generated which means less wasted energy. During operation, power is reduced by 20% over previous models. During ready mode, power is reduced by 44% over previous models.
